I don't think boys would be too good as alien fighters...
cause they tend to be more reckless, especially at a younger age and grade.

I think if boys wanted to be an alien fighter,
that maybe they would have to go thru a series of tests, like a obstacal course or something to see if they could handle it.

What do you all think?

I chose "maybe". All of the alien fighter that we saw in the manga and anime were girls and the teachers who fused with the alien were all female. But we also saw that the boys can also use the aliens, so perhaps there are also boy alien fighters somewhere.

Still, it would be odd to see a long-haired boy. :-)

When we saw the boys in the anime and manga with the aliens on their heads, we saw they didn't really have much control, but maybe if they wore a BORG it would be different. Maybe a female borg instead of male?

Yeah, I guess a boy could be an alien fighter. Under supervision of course. xD

Gender in my opinion isn't really an issue, more how an individual grew up, what lessons they learned along the way and their experiences etc. Taking Kasumi as an example, she had obviously led a life where she was used to getting eveyrthing she wants and succeeding in everything with both a super rich family and her own extremely versatile abilities. So she is very reckless in my opinion, as she dives off great heights and jumps into things head first without any doubts. She always wins because she has the talent to pull it off so its not a bad thing though. But likewise a boy could do just the same or a boy could turn out to be just like Yuri (someone might compare her to Shinji in Eva? He gets a lot of bad rep. for being scared/upset over all the traumatic stuff that happens around him too don't you think?) or Kumi (probably a more 'studious' boy, quite a few of those in anime), just depends on how life treats him.

I would love to see a team of Alien Fighter boys. Actually I thought Kumi was a boy when I first saw this anime. A cute one at that. ^_~ And was a little dissapointed when I realised

( Don't mean to offend but theres lots of boys with long hair in the world, I know some! If there were Alien Nine boys I'd much rather longer hair than just shaven hair style cut personally. )

1) Thats a good question, maybe I'll start a gender poll in the Off Topic section. I don't think it makes a difference but I guess it would be interesting.
2) Well, as my post says - Definitely not! Personally I get annoyed when boys say girls can't do something simply because they are a girl (e.g. "Girls can't play computer games" as I've been told... ) so I have sympathy for boys too in that respect.

That's basicly what I was saying with my post eariler and I'm sorry if it offended you. From experience from my Jr.High, most of the boys there are preety well, stupid. I'm not saying you are like them at all, you could probably be a great alien fighter
